Article 5 Interview

1. If the requesting State is unable to present any of the documents listed in Annexes 1 and 2 to the Agreement, the requested State shall interview the person to be readmitted in order to establish whether he/she possesses the nationality of the requested State.

2. The requested State may interview the person to be readmitted by officials of the central competent authority, posted in its diplomatic mission or consular representation in the requesting State. Before the officials of the central competent authority of the requested State take up their functions or in their absence, the officials of the diplomatic mission or consular representation of the requested State shall be in charge of the interview.

3. The central competent authority of the requested State shall inform the central competent authority of the requesting State of the results of the interview in the shortest possible time period and within a time limit of maximum 10 working days. In such a case, the time limits provided for in paragraph 2 of Article 12 of the Agreement begin to run from the date of the receipt by the requesting State of such notification.
