Article 7
In order to provide legal and economic assistance in connection with the construction and operation of the Offshore Portion of the Trunk Gas Pipeline, the Republic of Turkey shall exempt from taxes and duties, except customs fees charged for customs formalities:
(a) construction activities directly related to the Trunk Gas Pipeline during the construction period;
(b) maintenance and repair of the Trunk Gas Pipeline for the period through to 31 December 2015;
(c) transportation of natural gas through the Trunk Gas Pipeline (without prejudice to Article 4);
(d) supply of natural gas through the Trunk Gas Pipeline up to the point of connection to the Turkish gas network in the Samsun region, where the gas is deemed to be imported into Turkey;
(e) import of goods, such as ships, pipes, equipment and any material of technical nature, used for the construction, maintenance and repair of the Trunk Gas Pipeline for the period through to 31 December 2007.
